ENDORSEMENT: Essex County
Freeholder-At-Large: Marilynn English (I)http://www.wethepeopleofessex.com/
- DEFEATED
From Marilynn:
I
understand how frustrating it is to you and
your neighbors, seeing continued
deterioration of core services in spite of
seemingly endless increases in taxes. As an
example of how I started to become aware of
our County's situation, in September 2008, I
first began investigating the money spent on
the deer hunt in South Mountain Reservation,
and subsequent hunts in Eagle Rock and
Hilltop Reservations. We've been told
incorrectly that these hunts did not cost
the taxpayers anything. I have obtained
hundreds of records via the Open Public
Records Act, and found that money could have
been saved by spaying/neutering and/or
inoculating these animals.
